Day 1 of 3
Fire your pottery at the edge of the ocean! Join the instructor for three days at his studio to fire a wood kiln on the waterfront in Port Union. Participants must bring their own wares (10-20 pieces each) and be prepared to work outdoors in a variety of conditions. On day one students will decorate their pieces with glazes made from locally foraged materials including seaweed ash, local clay, and sea salt. A 24-hour firing will be completed on day two. Day three will be spent exploring the seashore for glaze materials before finally unloading the kiln.
