This workshop examines the different possibilities of ceramic objects to host life. Through experimentation in different clay bodies and shapes, participants are encouraged to think of how a living plant can be connected to an object in a symbiotic way. The workshop will examine how to modify characteristics such as porosity, hardness, weight, and wearability to design ceramic pieces to host plants and mosses. Participants are also encouraged to explore the possibilities of using plants as tools of biotechnology. No previous experience in ceramics is required.
