Hosting its very first art Biennale in 2017, the vibrant art and craft community of the Bonavista Peninsula will welcome Craft @ the Edge; a Handmade Future, Newfoundland and Labrador’s international craft conference for Canada’s Craft Year 2020.
Blending cultural tradition with contemporary approaches, the Bonavista Peninsula is a dynamic and innovative coastal region with breathtaking views, historic Newfoundland heritage and warm hospitality. This remarkable environment will inspire you as a maker and will help you forge connections with distinguished members of the craft community.
Starting at the northeastern tip of Shoal Harbour, the Bonavista Peninsula encompases the towns of Bonavista, Summerville, Musgravetown, Port Blandford and Kings Cove. Continuing along the eastern southern shore, the peninsula also includes the towns of Trinity, Catalina, Port Rexton and Cape Bonavista. All these geographical points are within a beautiful and breathtaking half hour drive to the town of Bonavista.
Although the conference will focus its main activities in the town of Bonavista, many events will take place in the surrounding regions. What a fantastic way to explore the province’s rich and vast landscapes!
