Speaker Profile

Jennifer has explored in various forms of glass since 1992. For the last decade her focus has been kiln-formed sculpture with themes of nature and interconnectedness. Jennifer has refined a series of techniques using glass powder to form sculptural shapes without the use of moulds. Her sculpture has received international attention with requests for instruction and exhibit in Canada, the US, and the UK. Jennifer teaches and creates from her studio near Ottawa, Ontario.

Self-employed since graduating from university in 1991, Jennifer successfully ran a variety of creative businesses. She offers seminars on entrepreneurship and taught business skills at Algonquin College in Ottawa. As with many businesses, Jennifer’s studio practice was faced with dramatic change in 2020 when classes were cancelled. What started out scary ended up profitable with a new take home kit concept and a change in marketing focus. Jennifer aims to help others find creative solutions.
