I was born in Toronto, Canada and received my initial art training and BFA through Queen's University in 1983 where I majored in sculpture. I spent a couple of winters at The Banff School of Fine Art where I immersed myself in the fibre department; back in the eighties it was a vibrant place and I met artists from around the world who worked in many different mediums. I was fortunate because Banff had a huge visiting artist program and I was introduced to  many inspiring visual and performance artists, musicians, and actors/actresses. My interest turned to Installation work using multiple materials and this led me to complete a Master of Fine Art degree in sculpture at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis) in 1992.  My work has been exhibited in Canada, United States, France, Scotland, Korea, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.
Our family lived in New Zealand for eight years (Titirangi, Matapouri, and Wanaka) where I learned the art of kiln-cast glass and became a New Zealand citizen! In 2013 our family moved back to Canada and we settled in Whistler, BC. In 2014 I teamed up with a group of artists to form the Mountain ObjectMakers Cooperative in Function Junction where we ran a very successful group studio for 3 Years.
