Rusted Pulchritude

Deirdre McGrath and Aaron Margolis live in Downeast Maine, where they create spoons, bowls, sculptures, and other wares by hand from local green wood. Deirdre studied Printmaking/Fine Art at SUNY Purchase and Aaron has been a professional woodworker and carpenter for 16 years. Together, they teach handtool-oriented woodcarving classes and co-own SevenArts, a fine craft gallery in Ellsworth, Maine. Their inspiration comes from the Swedish craft tradition of slöjd and the Japanese concept of wabisabi.
