Susan Furneaux

Biography

Susan Furneaux has been an artist and educator for over 20 years. Susan’s art practice has an emphasis on natural dye and hand embroidery; fusing fine craft techniques with natural and foraged elements from the forest that surround her studio. In 2008, she was certified as a Post-Secondary Instructor by province of Newfoundland and Labrador. She is currently an instructor in the College of the North Atlantic’s Textiles: Craft and Apparel Design Program. Over the years, Susan has taught workshops throughout Canada, created primary craft-based curriculum for Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Education and facilitated professional development workshops for craftspeople in every corner of Newfoundland and Labrador.
